Manchester United have lost their 3rd game in a row following a terrible performance from the players against Fulham.
After a summer where the Red Devils spent a total of £163 million to bring in 4 big summer signings, fans hoped for an amazing start to the season. From the first 5 games of the 2026/27 season they have picked up a total of 5 points. This includes 3 points from a 5-2 win over newly promoted Ipswich Town and 2 points from draws with both Everton and Fulham.
Fan’s jaws have dropped with the performances of players in recent games coming in for criticism – especially from ex player Gary Neville, now a pundit on Sky Sports. Speaking about their recent performance which included an own goal by Lisandro Martinez, he explained “That is the worst 15 minutes I have ever seen Manchester United play”
When discussing Michael Carrick, the newly installed Manchester Utd Manager, Gary Neville explained “Michael has just said there was nothing wrong with the team’s energy. Michael has got to stop defending them. I get why he’s defending them; he’s loyal, he wants his players to work for him.”
Manchester United’s season will continue to build pressure, which will hugely affect how the players perform. With games in the Champions league scheduled to start and tough premier league games ahead, it could be a long season for Man United fans.
